The closed digital assets investment fund wave capital specializes in liquid cryptocurrency tokens. The company provides venture-like returns through a diversified portfolio with a shorter investment horizon of 3-5 years. They invest in early-stage companies and protocols, fundamentals-based and with reduced risk, without having to sacrifice for flexibility or upside potential.

My Contribution
I conceptualized and executed the brand process – based on an early first logo draft provided by the customer. I adapted the logo on a small, application-oriented style guide. Additionally, I created different key visuals (wave visualizations) in the new brand colors. The styles and key visuals fueled a comprehensive pitch deck to present and sell the product. The deck was realized directly in pitch to enable the customer to edit the content later on.

The wave capital brand is supposed to strike a balance between professionalism and the innovative pioneering spirit of Web3. A strong sense of credibility and trustworthiness was just as important to transport as the fluid and agile nature of the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem. On top, the brand should also be accessible and inviting to an audience that might not be 100% familiar yet with blockchain technology. The logo is composed of four waves symbolizing the 4th Crypto Cycle, supported by a solid base – the black line. The colors of the logo stand for reliability and seriousness (wave capital black) and a kind of digital spirit of discovery and dynamic departure (shades of blue). They thus unite the two essential pillars of the brand. The font in use, Actor Regular, equally shows ambivalent characteristics. It is a subtle combination of very geometric, static letters and such that show some dynamics and surprising visual tendencies.
